I was tired of dreading ACLS and BLS courses. It always seemed to me like the instructors tried to fail you and never cared about actually teaching you anything
My Dad was a fire chief and I grew up always wanting to be a firefighter. I started taking CPR classes at my Dad’s firehouse as soon as I could compress the manikin. After two or three renewals, I found myself grudgingly attending the CPR courses. I loved the idea of being a teenager and being CPR certified, but I could not stand the instructors. They would get up in front of the class and with no emotion, enthusiasm or passion and explain what CPR was and why they did not think it was useful. I knew as soon as I had the opportunity to become and instructor, I had to take it and make changes. My goal with any course I teach or that is taught by a member of our team is that our students will not only have a fun and amazing experience, but that the passion that the instructor brings to the course will transfer to the students.
